Mission Statement
The Reading Police Department's mission is to protect and serve the public through police action. In carrying out this mission, the police department provides emergency services in several broad areas; crime prevention and suppression, crime reduction, investigation of crimes and apprehension of offenders, movement and control of traffic, the maintenance of public order and public emergency services. Through the town's central dispatch, we provide the public with the quickest possible response to requests for service in the most efficient and effective manner.
