When you call the Police or Fire Departments, chances are you will be talking to one of our civilian dispatchers. They are the heart and soul of the communications center. They are trained for quick response in emergency situations and are well prepared and ready to assist you with any problems or emergency you may have. Our Dispatch Unit handles all the calls coming into the Reading Police Station. This is where the dual broadcast system is located, these calls include enhanced-911 calls. Not only do they answer your calls but they transmit all radio communications to the Police and Fire
apparatus so they can respond to calls efficiently, safely and without delay!
