to serve you better!
Effective the week of June 7th
Reading Town Hall
(only Town Hall, not other buildings)
will be going to a 4-day work week.
The following will be the schedule that Town Hall is open:
Monday - 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Tuesday - 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Wednesday - 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Thursday - 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
These revised hours provide a better variety of hours including early morning hours and evening hours one night a week to serve our busy residents. Of course you can continue to do business with us at your convenience via our web site at www.readingma.gov.
Closing Fridays helps the tax payers save an estimated $20,000 per year on utility and operating costs. All employees will continue to work the same number of hours as they did on the old schedule.
Closing Fridays helps Town government reduce our carbon footprint – fewer hours of heating/cooling the Town Hall; fewer commuter trips by employees.
