4.      Surveying
a. Full ground surveys for roadway reconstruction, sidewalk, and curbing projects
b. Street and property line surveys for town properties and easements
c. Preparation of plans of land (sub-divisions, land transfers, etc.)
d. Street Acceptance plan preparation
e. Establishment of street line to determine tree ownership
f. Layouts of cemetery lots
g. Dig Safe markouts for water, sewer, and drainage system
h. Layouts of athletic fields for Recreation Division

5.      Administrative
a. Contract administration including receiving bids, awarding contracts, coordination of contractors, tracking budgets, reviewing, bills, preparing pay estimates, etc.
b.  Water service bill preparation
c. Administration of Chapter 90 program including project requests and reimbursements
d. Prepare abutter’s list
e. Prepare Municipal Lien Certificates
f. Issue permits for sewer connections, street openings, driveway openings, drain connections, and curb and sidewalk construction
g. Review and approve Licensed Drain Layer Applications
h. Coordinate new water service construction and replacement
i. Coordinate with consultants concerning various projects
j. Update various Town maps including assessor maps; water and sewer maps; street maps; zoning maps; precinct maps; etc.
k. Maintain and assign house numbering system
l. Update street listing
m. Prepare figures for Town Meeting Warrants
n. Prepare figures for Selectmen’s Meetings
o. Maintain water service records, sewer connection records, and sub-division records
p. Assist constituents in locating property records

6.      Miscellaneous Duties and Responsibilities
a. Maintain water supply computer model
b. Maintain and operate pavement management computer model
c. Develop annual roadway capital plan
d. Assist in annual budget preparation
e. Develop and coordinate the I/I reduction program
f. Develop and coordinate the NPDES Phase II permit application and implementation
g. Provide expert testimony in court cases
h. File Notices of Intent or Requests for Determination of Applicability for all Divisions of the Public Works Department
i. Perform traffic analysis
j. Attend Board of Selectmen meetings, Town Meeting, and other meetings, as necessary
k. Participate in various selection committees
l. Geographic Information System (GIS)

c. Street Acceptance hearings
d. Road Construction hearings
